Bonterms introduces an innovative "Negotiate by Cover Page" method to simplify contract negotiations. This approach isolates key terms on a cover page, utilizing standardized clauses from the Bonterms library to streamline the drafting process. Despite its benefits in efficiency and leveraging standardized clauses, this method presents challenges in document management due to multiple associated files.

For instance, the Bonterms Cloud Terms references Security Measures, Acceptable Use Policy, Support Policy, Service Level Agreement and Data Protection Addendum all as separate documents. So when you add in the cover page, you're trying to manage numerous documents which can be difficult to manage. In my view, the Cloud Terms and the associated files would be easier to manage if they were included as exhibits to the Cloud Terms rather than separate files.

Reflecting on this, a more traditional document structure might enhance Bonterms' accessibility and adoption. A single, comprehensive document integrating the cover page, cloud terms and associated policies might be easier for legal counsel to manage and might appeal to a broader user base.

But aside from the document structure Bonterms is trying to do away with redlining in favor of cover pages. While Bonterms points us towards a future where efficiency reigns supreme, convincing the legal fraternity to lay down their red pens might be its own epic saga. After all, for many in the legal field, navigating through redlines isn't just a task—it's an art form, a rite of passage, and perhaps, even a source of pride.
